There are pillows where you’re going

I used to travel on Amtrak on occasion. I think that’s where my carry-on pillow revulsion emerged. I couldn’t understand how someone would choose to use their free hand to carry their bed pillow – instead of something more important – like an extra bag with more outfit choices or a Jamba Juice. But, more importantly, I couldn’t understand why someone would be ok resting their face (for multiple hours overnight) on an item that was toted through a train station or airport and then shoved in the overhead bin. Yuck! It’s my belief – long before the pandemic – that the better sleep you may get from the comfort of your familiar pillow has to be outweighed by the germs picked up along the way.
